International workshop for CORDEX East Asia and new ESGF node, 4-5 April 2019, Jeju Korea

In Korea, National Institute of Meteorological Sciences (NIMS) and APEC Climate Center (APCC) have established an ESGF node for the CORDEX East Asia experiments.
Before starting the node service, an international workshop on the CORDEX East Asia and the ESGF server will be held at Jeju island next April 4-5.
Early April is the best season in Jeju for cherry blossoms and canola flower.

Call for Proposals on workshop oriented sessions at the next CORDEX Conference in Bejing, 14-18 October 2019

The CORDEX Sicence Advisory Team  are in the process of setting the program for the next CORDEX conference; ICRC-CORDEX 2019, 14-18 October in Beijing, China.

In this process we would like to invite you to suggest topics for D-sessions.

The D-sessions are more work-shop oriented than the ‘regular’ sessions and to get the idea you can take a look at the D-sessions of the last conference, ICRC-CORDEX 2016, here

We will limit the number of sessions to 6-8 and the suggestions will be evaluated by the CORDEX Science Advisory Team.

Please send your suggestions for D-sessions at the latest by 31 January  2019 to

Abstract deadline 28 September for the Forum on Scenarios for Climate and Societal Futures, March 11-13, Denver Colorado

Call for abstracts for Session 31: Climate change scenarios in CORDEX domains
as part of the Scenarios Forum 2019: Forum on Scenarios for Climate and Societal Futures
March 11-13, 2019
University of Denver, Denver, Colorado
The sessions will have only 4-5 speakers´ presentations (20 min/speaker) and the rest will be posters; there will be 40 sessions. The deadline for abstract submission is September 28, 2018.

Session 31: Climate change scenarios in CORDEX domains
This session focuses on integrated regional climate change scenarios for the Coordinated Regional Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) domains, considering both physical processes and socioeconomic trajectories that describe the future changes unfolding in these regions. On the one hand, the session seeks presentations on multi-model ensembles, global and regional models intercomparisons, and climate change scenarios based on different Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) using dynamical or statistical downscaling techniques. Climate change studies under different scenarios focused on physical processes characteristic of the regions, trends, extreme events, and detection and attribution are encouraged. On the other hand, studies exploring the coherence between global and regional Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), identification of storyline elements, and evaluation of RCP scenarios or SSPs for integrated climate change impacts and adaptation studies in CORDEX domains are also welcome.
