Save the date 7-10 July 2015: Our Common Future under Climate Change

« Our Common Future under Climate Change » will be the largest gathering of global change scientists leading up to the 2015 (COP21) Climate Conference in Paris. Up to 1,500 delegates are expected in July 2015 at the conference venue, UNESCO headquarters, downtown Paris. Specific sessions and side events will also be organized at different locations within the city and a global hub of scientists and students will join through web streaming during the plenary sessions.


This major conference is currently being organized with the support of a growing number of international as well as French institutions, including so far: the International Council for Science (ICSU) with its Future Earth initiative, and UNESCO, together with major French laboratories and research institutions.

Regional climate models and CORDEX at the UGM, 2 - 7 November 2014

A Special Session on Regional climate models and CORDEX at the upcoming UGM to be held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, 2 - 7 November 2014:

For this session papers on the next topics are welcome:

  1. Implementation and validation of regional climate models over different regions -- with particular emphasis on those within CORDEX framework
  2. Applicability of regional climate models in the study of extreme events (i.e. precipitation extremes, heat waves, droughts and other phenomena)
  3. Studies of VIA (vulnerability, impacts and adaptation) to climate change

Papers in English and Spanish will be received.

3rd international MedCORDEX workshop, 26-28 May 2014

26-28 May 2014, Palaiseau (France)

The 3rd international workshop dedicated to the MED-CORDEX initiative will be held in Palaiseau, near Paris, on 26-28 May 2014. It is the opportunity for the international MED-CORDEX community to be gathered to present and discuss key scientific results focussing on the modelling of the Mediterranean regional climate, present and future, and to discuss the future priorities for the phase II of MED-CORDEX. During these 3 days, six scientific sessions will be proposed to present a wide range of scientific issues. They will be completed by small-group round tables to discuss specific points and by plenary discussions. Valorization, fundings opportunities, future priority research will then be addressed.
